Happy New Year guys!!!

I'm very excited about what God has planned for us this year. We had started 2007 with a lot of strength but some things made us lost some of that power and some of us needed an off time to recharge the batteries and get on the track again. Some things happened during this 2007 and the things started running in the way it had to be from the very begining, but we are so convinced that the things had been that way for something that only God know why.

Before all of that things some guys took the steering wheel and they driving us in the right way, we are learning everyday and we're taking this time in Sitges just as a training time while we're trying to finish the new building in Vilanova. I'm sure wants us to be prepared and ready to make the things we want to do, and when he thinks we reach that he will make our new building finished.

Our small groups started running very well, it's amazing hearing people saying "my small group is my real church", i know you guys had heard this a lot of times, but not us, that kind of small groups are not the kind of small groups we used to know all of our lives, and changing the concept of that and hearing that kind of things about is really encouraging.

We had also worked hard in making our services attractive for the outsiders, and we had a lot of comments about we're doing a good job and we can fell free to invite outsiders because they're gonna like it, isn't great?

So, as i told you, i'm very excited about what God has for us this next year, i'm sure our small groups are gonna grow and are gonna continue improving; i'm sure our services are gonna be better; our kids are gonna have a very good time there, even though they're having it right now, but even better.

I'm sure 2008 is gonna be a good year for what God is doing in Spain, and we'll let you know because you guys are part of us.

Thanks for everything you guys are doing for us, please, keep praying for our churches.

We wish you the best, and have a nice New Years day!!!

¡Cumpleaños Feliz a Tamar!

Mucho Amor, Carolina

Hola mi Amigos!

Hi everyone....
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! It is so neat and amazing to see how God is working over in Spain as well as here in Atlanta. I love to hear how things are going over seas with all of you. I wanted to wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR! I pray that in 2008 our faith continues to increase so that we all have "child like faith" to truly trust and take God at HIS word. To believe GOD through the trials and through the blessings. He is mighty and ABLE to do ALL things. Yes, our GOD is that BIG! Looking forward to seeing some of you in a few months when our teams return to Espana! Take care and wishing everyone the best.

In HIM,
Heather Maxey

Gracias a todos

Hola amigos,

Hi from Sitges

Thanks, Carolyn, for putting together this blog! I just wanted to let everyone know that things in our church in Sitges/Vilanova are going well (as you can see from the photo Isma posted!) One big praise is that yesterday we had one of our best services ever, with really great music prepared by Alvaro, a dynamic message by Julian, and some funny and thought-provoking videos. We also had a few new people join us, which was awesome. And of course, having it in our spic-n-span 'new' space made everything even better.
Also, our small groups, which we call Conectados, are going well. I can't speak for all the other groups, but the one I'm in has been great so far. But you guys can definitely keep praying for the continued success of the small groups, and also that more and more people will come join the church.
I hope that all of you in the US are doing well! Thanks again for your continued support and prayers!
un abrazo,
Sarah

Carolyn's Thanksgiving Holidays

HOLA AMIGOS!
Pictures below:
1- My nephew Sam (in orange wig) and my Dad
2- Funny sign at the game!
3- My 4 neices and nephew (Sam) in their orange and blue
4- A view of the UVA football stadium at the game.

This has nothing to do with what God is doing in Spain, but I know Dani, Tamar, Isma, Eva and David can especially appreciate how CRAZY we are over football here in the U.S. (after going to the Falcons games with us and watching college football on tv. with us in Atlanta), so I wanted to show you these fun pictures from the UVA/ VA Tech football game over Thanksgiving. It was AT the UVA stadium in Charlottesville, VA. We were all in our school colors (orange/blue). (: I'm sorry to say that we LOST that game, but it was still so much fun!

And my family tradition at Thanksgiving is to go around the table (when we sit down and eat) and say what we're thankful for. I want you to know that my friends in SPAIN were at the top of my list this year! I'm so thankful for all of you.

Keep the updates coming. (: Mucho amor!

Carolyn

EPV refurbished again

Since we don't know for how long we're gonna stay here in Sitges (next town going from Vilanova to Barcelona) we're trying to make it look the best we can for the outsiders and for us to feel comfortable.

Some guys from Eastern Hills Bible Church, near from Manlius, NY, just came to help working in making improvements as they did the past two years.

They have done two walls to protect the video and the audio devices and also two platforms for the video cameras. An awsome job, don't you think so?

This is how the church looks right now, there you can also see the new chairs, that chairs are great guys! Thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving guys!

I know, it looks like this is not about what God is doing in Spain and neither about what's happenning in Vilanova or in Sevilla, but it is, because this is about you guys and you are part of us.

We know how important is the Thanksgiving day for you all, and that's why we all want to say Happy Thanksgiving Day!!!

GRACIAS, GRACIAS, GRACIAS

Queridos hermanos:

Where it all started....

Hola Amigos!
After coming back from Vilanova in July 2007, our team (#2) decided we needed to start a blog where we could post updates from Atlanta, and let our Spanish friends post updates about their church and what God is doing in their lives. SO, it took me a few months, but here it is! This will go to all of our friends at our partner churches in Sevilla and Vilanova, Spain, as well as the teams that have gone to Spain from Northpoint and Buckhead Churches (and also other supporters and friends). For our Spain friends, please feel free to write IN SPANISH, and we'll get it translated. (: We just want a central place where we can write back and forth and "keep in touch" as often as possible.

Background: "Global X" is the missions side of Northpoint Community Church (and its strategic partners) in Atlanta. Knowing that Spain is only 2% Christian and church is almost non-existent there, Global X started a partnership with a church in Vilanova (La Iglesia Protestante de Vilanova) and one in Sevilla, Spain (no name yet), who want to see their churches grow and become "relevant" environments where people can worship and find a relationship with God. The first team from NPCC/ BC went to Sevilla and Vilanova in June 2007, and the 2nd team went in July 2007 (only to Vilanova). Since then, one more team of five has gone over (in October 2007), but we have at least 5 more trips lined up over there in 2008! It is so encouraging to see what God is doing in these two cities!

To find out more, you can visit:
http://www.globalxm.org
www.northpoint.org
www.buckheadchurch.org

Now, it's time to start writing. Please feel free to post pictures, links, comments, updates etc. as often as you'd like!

Hasta Luego!
Carolyn
