Soccer foyer night

Hi everyone!

I don't know if you knew this but two years ago, in the very begining of that project we're working on, we had a big foyer environment when FC Barcelona reach final on the most important european championship against Arsenal from London.

We started promoting to our friends to come to watch the final with us in the big screen in our church.

The church was full and we had a great night mainly because of two things, we showed or friends that we also enjoy watching a soccer game, and FC Barcelona won. :D

Tomorrow FC Barcelona are gonna play the semifinal in Manchester, the second leg, the first one was played in Barcelona a week ago and the result was 0-0, so Barça is gonna play the final again if the won or tie at least 1-1.

This will give us the oportunity to have another soccer foyer night and the chance to invite some friends to watch the game in our church and have a good time with us.

So pray for that to happen and for the chance to have that soccer foyer night.

Saludos desde Australia

A different church

Sometimes i think about my church as a brand. Every brand need a phrase or slogan asssociated to it to help people to know easily about them or to engage them.

The slogan i like the most for our church is something like "A different church".

This is a guy who came to our church, and Julian, one of the guys in the church that most of you guys know was talking with this guy's girlfriend and she told him "you know i'm very disapointed about the church, but my boyfriend told me that yours is different so maybe i'm gonna give you guys a chance".

There's also a guy who Julian, David, Eva, and some others are investing time for him to come to our church for a long time, he's a skilled guy in some area where we need help, he's been coming for some time and helping us and the last sunday told me "Everytime i can go to a church i'm gonna come here".

Also this is a girl who has been coming for a long time, she's from Chile and she's leaving Spaing to come back to her country but she told us "if you guys wnat to come to Chile and start a brand new church like this one in Vilnova, i'm gonna be there in that church".

Isn't great?

There are more stories like those, but this is enough for today.

I like to think things like those happen in some sense because we're getting a different church.

Thanks guys and please keep on praying for us, big things are gonna happen.

Target meeting

Hi everybody!

Because of the new constitution we have, we just started a new "leadership team".

One of the main things we're gonna work from the very begining is in our strategy to reach outsiders.

We spend a saturday working with a report that i made based on the marketing basis and applying those basis to church as the product and outsiders as our target who we want to "sell" our product.

This target meeting was great because we realized who is our competition and how we can change target habits and decisions to get them intested in our church.

We also defined who is our target, this is specially needed if we want to make things not for everyone but for who we mainly want to come to church, and also to prepare our environments for them.

Now we're gonna work with Miquel who is an amazing marketing guy to develope all that stuff in every direction in our church.

I'll update about how this thing is going on and what's coming up.

Pedimos oración para este evento en el que nuestros jóvenes invitaran a sus amigos no cristianos. Esta ruta en Mountain Bike ha levantado tanto interés, que vamos a organizar otra para  parejas jóvenes casadas.  Estas actividades son estupendas para cultivar relaciones y luego invitar a estas personas a otros entornos de la iglesia.

Bethany de Upstreet de Buckhead y Toni de Waumba Land de Browns Bridge en Sevilla

Esta semana pasada ha sido una semana intensa en la que hemos tenido a Bethany (Upstreet de Buckhead) y Toni (de Waumba Land de Browns Bridge)  para encontrarse con nuestro equipo de responsables y voluntarios que trabajan con los niños en la iglesia.  Eugenio y Sara de la iglesia de Vilanova,  nos han ayudado con la traducción y hemos disfrutado mucho del tiempo todos juntos. Dado que nuestra iglesia está situada en un barrio donde viven muchas familias con niños, estamos pensando en desarrollar estos ambientes.  Nuestros voluntarios están muy entusiasmados con estos programas y sus posibilidades en el barrio.

Creating foyer environments

Hi there!

We just started a brand new foyer environment to invite outsiders to know us.

As you guys know being christian in Spain is not as normal as can be in the States, so sometimes telling a jobmate or a friend that you're christian it's kinda freak, and sometimes the first thing for us to show them it's that we're "normal people".

In that way our small group just decided to start a hiking-day to invite outsiders to spend the day with us and see that we're just people like them, but with a different faith and life point of view.

Here you can see two pictures of the first hiking day we had. Right on the top you can see Miquel helping Oriol to climb with a rope, and on your left there's Dani a girl who started attending to our church one month ago.

Pray for our friends and those who we want to invite to hike and spend some time with us to be willing to come, and for us to be able to "sell" this activities.

IMPROVING PREACHER COMFORTABILITY

In that picture you can see our preacher, JULIAN in that case, instants before use for the first time shure handsfree microphone!! thnx!!!!



Now the stage is much better, much cleared and the preacher has a lot of freedom to explain what he wanted.

Now the video guys have more work to follow preacher movements...i'm sorry for Isma&Marc :-)

Easter 2008 in Sevilla

Felicitamos a nuestro equipo de producción por el video que resume nuestro evento de pascua. Nos vamos a las montañas e invitamos a nuestros amigos no cristianos y pasamos unos días juntos haciendo diferentes actividades. Este año hemos tenido 52 personas, seis de las cuales no eran cristianas.
Seguimos trabajando en entornos de relaciones....
